I’m sure you know it. In the summer, high temperatures hit and you can’t stand sitting on the terrace of your favourite café. Or you’d like to spend your free time on your own garden terrace, but around lunchtime it’s just not possible because of the extreme heat. So you have to wait inside until it cools down a bit outside. When this happens and you finally want to enjoy your coffee or just start spending time in the garden, the insects start to make it unpleasant.
The ideal solution is a cooling unit that both cools and humidifies the space. Water vapour cooling is also such a solution. Steam spray systems are an innovative method of cooling and humidifying outdoor and indoor spaces.
Evaporative cooling works by taking in heat from the surroundings and using it to evaporate itself. The water evaporates instantly, which can reduce the sensible temperature by 8 to 10°C in a short period of time. Each system has a cyclic timer and intelligent control via an app that can be controlled easily and conveniently from your mobile phone or tablet. Special nozzles, form micron-sized water droplets that are 10 times smaller than the diameter of the hair. So you don’t have to worry about getting the area wet or damaging electronic devices.
In addition, each steam system has a low running cost, consuming around 500W. For a fraction of the price of a standard air conditioning unit, you can create a comfortable environment in your garden or café, even in the hottest heat.
Advantages of the solution
- Lower operating costs compared to standard air conditioners
- Can also be used indoors
- Simple and easy to operate
- Cooling in places where it was not possible before
- Healthier working environment for employees
There are basically three solutions to choose from in today’s market. A spray centrifugal fan, a high-pressure system or an evaporative cooler.
Spray centrifugal fan
This is the cheapest cooling option and is most often used for smaller patios or balconies. This device has its own water container which must be refilled regularly. The consumption of the CoolFan is about 8 hours of continuous operation per filling.
High pressure system
The high-pressure system consists of a filter for coarse dirt, a high-pressure pump, a distribution line or special equipment such as a SkyMist spray unit, a cassette unit or a fan with a stainless steel ring for the spray nozzles. The most common system implementation is the installation of a spray line with nozzle holders.
Evaporative cooler
Evaporative coolers cool the air by a simple natural process: evaporating water lowers the air temperature. A pump takes water from the reservoir and humidifies a wide natural cellulose liner with it. A powerful fan blows the air through the liner. The water evaporates from the liner and the air temperature is naturally reduced by several degrees. Fresh, clean air flows into the environment and cools it at the same time.Evaporative coolers are also environmentally friendly because they use only water and air to provide energy-efficient cooling. This method uses up to 80% less energy than refrigerated air conditioners.
Whichever solution you choose, the quality of the space and the air you need to cool will be greatly improved. Finally, read on for some of the benefits you’ll gain from water vapour air cooling.
- Water vapor cooling uses no chemicals.
- It eliminates insects and mosquitoes that can’t fly enough because of the more humid environment.
- It creates a pleasant cooling environment without actually making things and people wet.
- It has a low operating consumption and is characterized by a fast air cooling compared to air conditioning.
- It reduces dustiness of the space in which the cooling and humidification by steam is operated.
